Berbagai inisiatif terus dilakukan BRI dalam mendukung upaya pemerintah memerangi perubahan iklim dan menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan. Melalui aktivitas Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan (TJSL) BRI Peduli, BRI kembali melaksanakan program BRI Menanam – Grow & Green melalui kegiatan penanaman pohon produktif di Desa Kutuh, Kecamatan Kintamani, Kabupaten Bangli.

Kegiatan ini sekaligus memperingati Hari Menanam Pohon Indonesia yang melibatkan kelompok tani dan masyarakat lokal pada Senin (25/11). Sebanyak 5.000 bibit pohon dibagikan ke kelompok tani setempat, yang terdiri dari 1.500 bibit tanaman alpukat dan 3.500 bibit tanaman matoa.

Wakil Direktur Utama BRI, Catur Budi Harto mengungkapkan bahwa pelaksanaan program BRI Menanam – Grow & Green di Desa Kutuh merupakan bentuk kepedulian dan tanggung jawab BRI dalam menjaga keseimbangan alam dan lingkungan serta membantu mendorong perekonomian masyarakat setempat.

“Dengan program ini, kami membantu masyarakat setempat untuk menjaga alam dan keseimbangan lingkungan. Tanaman yang ditanam juga suatu saat nanti bisa membantu perekonomian masyarakat setempat. Ini adalah bentuk komitmen BRI dalam mendukung pembangunan dan pertumbuhan kinerja berkelanjutan yang berbasis Environment, Social and Governance (ESG),” ungkap Hendy, Minggu (1/12/2014).

Program ini juga menjadi wadah untuk mewujudkan praktik pembangunan berkelanjutan yang memliki tujuan untuk melestarian lingkungan, menyerap karbon, memberdayakan masyarakat dan meningkatan perekonomian. Dalam pelaksanaannya, BRI menggandeng Yayasan Ladang Sinergi Lestari, membantu melakukan pendampingan, monitoring dan evaluasi program.

Di lain pihak, I Wayan Swastika (44) selaku Ketua Kelompok Munduk Buluh mengatakan bahwa sebelumnya anggota kelompoknya adalah para petani di Desa Kutuh yang belum bisa menggarap hutan karena tidak mendapakan ijin dari pemerintah. Dengan terbentuknya kelompok tersebut pada 2017, akhirnya Kelompok Munduk Buluh sudah bisa menggarap hutan dan menjadikan sebagai sumber penghasilan.

“Dulu sebelum kelompok tani terbentuk, kami hanya memanfaatkan hutan untuk mencari rumput untuk pakan ternak. Sekarang kami sudah bisa menggarap hutan hingga kahirnya kami berkolaborasi dengan Yayasan Lada Sinergi dan BRI untuk melakukan penanaman tanaman produktif di lahan ini,” ungkapnya.

Ia berharap kolaborasi ini nantinya dapat membantu penghjiauan di kawasan hutan di Desanya dan dapat membantu perekonomian anggota kelompoknya.

“Program BRI Menanam – Grow & Green tersebut tujuannya sangat bagus dan sesuai dengan rencana pengembangan kelompok. Tentunya selain menjadikan penghijauan di kawasan hutan kami, kami juga dapat memanfaatkan hasil dari tanaman yang kami tanam kedepannya yang dapat membantu meningkatkan kesejahteraan kelompok tani kami tentunya” tegasnya.

Catur menambahkan, kegiatan penanaman pohon produktif merupakan upaya nyata dalam membantu pemerintah mengurangi dampak buruk dari lahan kritis seperti banjir, longsor, dan kekeringan, serta berkontribusi dalam pengurangan emisi dan adaptasi perubahan iklim.

Sejak diluncurkan pada tahun 2023 Program BRI Menanam – Grow & Green telah memberikan kontribusi dalam melawan perubahan iklim dan membantu menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan. Hingga saat ini, program ini telah melibatkan 23 kelompok tani dan nelayan di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia.

Selain itu, tercatat lebih dari 60.300 pohon telah tertanam dan terpelihara dengan baik dan 2.430 fragmen karang telah ter-transplantasi untuk memulihkan ekosistem laut.

Selain berdampak pada keseimbangan lingkungan, program ini juga berkontribusi pada pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan melibatkan 1.080 kepala keluarga, menciptakan lapangan kerja dan berpotensi menyerap karbon sebesar 17,96 ribu ton CO2e per tahun.
